Abstract
El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad examinar el caso de la mujer saharaui a lo largo de la historia, como un ejemplo de actor en el conflicto armado, activismo, resistencia, y un importante agente transformador y de cambio antes, durante y en la actualidad del conflicto del Sáhara Occidental; tratando de dar cuenta de todas las realidades de la mujer saharaui dentro del conocido como “el conflicto olvidado”. Partiendo del abandono de España y la ocupación ilegal inmediata de Marruecos en el año 1975, el pueblo saharaui se ha visto despojado de su derecho a la independencia y autodeterminación, además de sujeto de múltiples violaciones de Derechos Humanos, donde la mujer saharaui se ha visto en una situación de especial vulnerabilidad. Entre todas las peculiaridades que han conformado el microcosmos de la perspectiva de género en el conflicto, la participación de la mujer saharaui en la transformación de la sociedad ha devenido imprescindible, y el hecho de no tenerlo en cuenta supone contar la historia del Sáhara Occidental de una manera incompleta.
The purpose of this work is to examine the case of the Saharawi woman throughout history, as an example of an actor in the armed conflict, activism, resistance, and an important agent of transformation and change before, during and at the present of the Western Sahara conflict; trying to account all the realities of Saharawi women within the so-called “forgotten conflict”. Starting from the abandonment of Spain and the immediate illegal occupation of Morocco in 1975, the Saharawi people have been stripped of their right to independence and self-determination, as well as the subject of multiple violations of Human Rights, where Saharawi woman has been in a situation of special vulnerability. Among all the peculiarities that have shaped the microcosm of the gender perspective in the conflict, the participation of Saharawi women in the transformation of society has become essential, and the fact of not taking it into account supposes telling the story of Western Sahara from an incomplete way.
