Abstract
This doctoral dissertation consists of three chapters on different aspects of labor markets, especially related to occupational choice, intergenerational transmission and structural change. In the first chapter, I analyze how parents affect the occupational choice and employment prospects of offspring. In the second chapter, I study the determinants of occupational persistence across generations and its implication on the aggregate equilibrium and welfare. In the third chapter, I investigate how income inequality affects the relationship between
structural change and growth.
