Abstract
The work done in the next final project, has consisted in modeling and simlulate numerically some cleaning systems and flushing water savings. At first, two studies are performed. On the one hand, it is analyzed the behavior of a particle within a water-filled tube, which discharges outside through its base. Furthermore, it is analyzed the discharge of a cube-shaped container which is filled with water and, at the same time, is emptied through a hole in its bottom. After analyzing these two cases, and already familiar with the software used, is performed the simulation of a spheroid-shape container, filled with particles positioned inside it randomly, and with various modifications, both in their geometry as in the inlet flow velocity. So it is reached the conclusion of which geometry and fluid velocity is more appropriate to swept away the greater number of particles. To perform these simulations, both previous cases like the case of the spheroid, we employed a software, called FLOW-3D, which is a simulation software, ideal for computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
