Abstract
La situación actual de las mujeres está condicionada por su rápida incorporación al mercado laboral y por la ausencia de reorganización del cuidado de los dependientes. Su papel en el hogar influye sobre las modalidades de su presencia en el mercado laboral: baja tasa de empleo y mayor recurso que los hombres al trabajo a tiempo parcial. Las mujeres aumentan su tiempo de trabajo y recurren a las redes familiares cuando su salario es cada vez más necesario, los hombres no han asumido plenamente el rol de cuidadores, y el Estado se ha retraído con el pretexto de la crisis. En la medida en que nos acercamos a un modelo en el que todos los adultos, hombres y mujeres, trabajan por igual, la pregunta de ¿quién cuida? adquiere una urgencia especial.
The current situation of women is conditioned by their rapid integration into the labour market and by the lack of a reorganisation of dependent care-giving. Their role in the home affects the form their presence in the labour market takes: a low employment rate and greater engagement than men in part-time work. Women are increasingly spending more time working and drawing on family networks when their salary is increasingly necessary, men have not fully assumed the role of care-givers and the State has withdrawn under the pretext of the crisis. To the extent that we are moving towards a model in which all adults, men and women, work equally, the question as to who will do the care-giving acquires a particular urgency.
