Abstract
This article highlights the multiple meanings of legal pluralism and alternative law, as well as the relationship that exist between both perspectives. In order to clarify certain confusions and misunderstandings that underlie the context of legal pluralism, two analytical models are proposed. On one hand, the legal pluralism in the strict sense, and on the other hand, the legal pluralism of monistic basis, pointing out that only in the first one it is possible a reading in paradigm terms within the framework of the criticism to the traditional jurisprudence
