Abstract
En este artículo se mostrará el interés que suscitó el estudio de mundo antiguo en España durante el siglo xviii a través de los estudios abordados en la Cátedra de Historia Literaria en los Reales Estudios de San Isidro. El objetivo principeil será determinar cuáles fueron los temas predilectos de los estudiantes y por qué. El
estudio también tratairá de mostrar la existencia de diferentes interpretaciones de las culturáis antiguas en función de los intereses ideológicos de los autores de los exámenes.
This article addresses the interest that aróse during 18th century Spain in the study of the ancient world through the Literary History Cátedra in Reales Estudios de San Isidro. Its main aim is to to assess which topics of this classical history were reviewed for the students and why. The study also discusses the different interpretations that exist about ancient cultures and their relationship to the ideological interests of the exam writers.
