dc.description.abstractThe monopolistic structures of industrial markets in Spain are ever increasingly complex. The need to understand them properly, and to design an economic policy which is congruent to their nature, require an effort in the field of analysis, and an improvement in the statistical basis, such as to overcome the margins of the problem of the financia! concentration to which other examinations of the subject have normally been limited up to now. In particular, if the pharmaceutical industry is taken as an example, it may be observed how the monopolistic structure of this market has multiple dimensions, these including the basic conditions for technology and demand; the product differentiation, the effect of advertising, and the different barriers to be overcome by potential competitors who are new on the market. In this regard, the financial, and even the economical concentration are no more than one of many such characteristics.en
dc.description.abstractLas estructuras monopolisticas de los mercados industriales españoles son cada vez más complejas. La necesidad de comprenderlas adecuadamente y de diseñar una política económica congruente con su naturaleza exige un esfuerzo de análisis y una mejora de la base estadística que permitan sobrepasar los márgenes del problema de la concentración financiera al que normalmente se han venido constriñendo los estudios del tema. En concreto, tomando como ejemplo la industria farmacéutica se observa que la estructura monopolística de este mercado tiene dimensiones múltiples, las condiciones básicas de la tecnología y la demanda, la diferenciación del producto, la función de la publicidad y las diferentes barreras a la entrada de competidores potenciales. En este cuadro, la concentración financiera y aun la económica son sólo una de tantas características.es
