Abstract
Durante los años dorados de Hollywood los biopics musicales llenaron las pantallas y adquirieron una gran popularidad. A través de ellos el público disfrutó de la vida de algunas de las figuras más relevantes de Norteamérica. Sin embargo, detrás de estos filmes nos encontramos con una industria que no dudaba en inventar y modificar vidas con tal de llenar las arcas. La realización de algunas películas de este peculiar subgénero está repleta de anécdotas en las que puede verse cómo diversos intereses propiciaron una escritura falseada de la historia de una nación.
During Hollywood‟s golden years musical biopics filled the screens and became very popular. Through them audiences enjoyed the lives of some of America‟s most relevant figures. However, behind these movies we find an industry which didn‟t hesitate to invent and modify lives as long as they got box-office hits. The making of some of these musicals are full of anecdotes in which we can appreciate how different interests caused distorted writing of American history.
