Abstract
A menudo se recurre a la biopic a la hora de explorar las relaciones entre biografía y cine. Nuestro escrito se centrará en esclarecer hasta qué punto es plausible hablar también de autobiografía fílmica (o autobiopic) a partir de la filmografía de Woody Allen. Acometeremos tal objetivo evitando remitirnos a un filme en particular, sino más bien a esa suerte de macropelícula autobiográfica que conforma la práctica totalidad de sus obras. Partiendo de este punto, trataremos de justificar que la filmografía de Allen se presta a ser entendida como una autobiografía cinematográfica fragmentaria y deconstruida que no sólo plasma sus vivencias como persona, sino que abarca también el arte al que ha consagrado su vida y que permite una reflexión sobre los frutos de ese ejercicio (sus películas).
We often appeal to biopics when exploring the relationship between biography and cinema. Taking Woody Allen’s movies into account, our essay will try to clarify to what extent it is suitable to talk about autobiopics. We will not consider his films in an isolated way, on the contrary, we will regard his filmography as if it was a sort of autobiographical macromovie. From this point onwards, we will try to justify that Allen’s filmography can be understood as a fragmentary and deconstructed autobiography which includes not only his experiences as a person, but also a reflection on his films and on cinema as an art.
