Certainly, the country is found in a delicate situation, hosting over 3.000.000 refugees after the so-called EU-Turkey deal and going through a de-democratization process accelerated by a state of emergency. Against this background, this paper looks into NGOs that are defending Syrian refugee women’s rights, the obstacles they encounter and the strategies they use to cope with these. As well, the paper aims to disclose the implications for Syrian refugee women. Among others, findings point out that the current political environment in Turkey has hindered NGOs’ work and has affected negatively their capacity to response to Syrian refugee women’s needs to a great extend.14application/pdfengAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 3.0 EspañaMigrationsRefugee womenDe-democratizationNGOsAsylum-seekersGender-based violencesNGOs helping syrian refugee women in Turkey: courage and uncertainty at a crossroadsconference paperSociologíaopen access182195Investigación joven con perspectiva de género III
