This study aims at providing a comprehensive explanation of the foundations on which this emergence is built, together with the development of a set methodologies to design and analyse an aerodynamic package. Finally, all this knowledge and procedures are applied to the design of the Formula UC3M prototype aerodynamic package. There are three main conclusions to be drawn from this project. The first one is that two parameters, here denoted and , suffice to characterize the aerodynamic performance of a race car. Secondly, analytical aerodynamic models are seen to be are applicable even to the most complex geometries, being particularly useful to gain insight about the force generation mechanisms. Finally, an optimization of the full CFD procedure is shown to be useful in terms of maximizing the outcome with a given level of resources.engAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 3.0 EspañaAerodynamicsCFD MethodologiesFormula StudentF1Foundations, Methodologies and Design of the Formula UC3M Car Aerodynamicsbachelor thesisIngeniería Mecánicaopen access
