A VCO-based Voice Activity Detection System for IoT applications [proceedings]. 30th Austrian Workshop on Microelectronics (Austrochip 2022), Villach, Austria.978-1-6654-7309-5https://hdl.handle.net/10016/36763Proceedings of: 30th Austrian Workshop on Microelectronics (Austrochip 2022), 10-12 October 2022, Villach, Austria. This paper shows a system level implementation of a Voice Activity Detector aimed at edge computing applications. The system is based on a voice band filter followed by a Manhattan norm calculator. It works with time encoded signals instead of charged capacitors or analog voltages. The advantages of this approach span from ultra low power consumption, to the suitability for deep sub-micron implementations, together with the possibility to fully synthesize the circuit using digital designing tools.4eng © 2022, IEEE.Voltage controlled oscillator (VCO)Audio signal processingVoice activity detection (VAD)A VCO-based voice activity detection system for IoT applicationsconference proceedingsElectrónicaTelecomunicacioneshttps://doi.org/10.1109/Austrochip56145.2022.9940887open access142022 Austrochip Workshop on Microelectronics (Austrochip)CC/0000034123
