A partir de esta documentación de origen fiscal, se ha obtenido una larga serie homogénea de precios del hierro que abarca desde mediados del siglo xvil hasta fines del XVIII. Esta fuente resulta un buen indicador de la coyuntura de la industria siderúrgica vasca, y confirma, matizándola, la evolución del sector que Bilbao y Fernández de Pinedo habían deducido de las exportaciones de mineral de Somorrostro.The purpose of this article is to analyse the yield of a excise tax that the bloomeries of two little villages of Guipúzcoa paid in wrought iron.
