La reestructuración del mundo daría comienzo en 1945 con la detonación de la bomba atómica en Hiroshima y Nagasaki: daba comienzo así la Guerra Fría y con esta la era atómica. Para dicha época la ciencia y sus hallazgos jugarían un papel determinante para el mundo. La sociedad observaría con recelo los nuevos avances y Planeta Prohibido es un ejemplo fehaciente del estado de ansiedad de la población norteamericana. Dos elementos tecnológicos del film: el educador plástico y el Robby el robot servirán de patrón para advertir del riesgo que implica para el mundo la ciencia mal aplicada. La figura de Robby, en cambio, abrirá nuevas vías, más conciliadoras, entre sociedad y ciencia.This article focuses on technophobe vision in American society held in the Decade of th 50, and therefore used the film Forbidden Planet (Fred McLeod Wilcox, 1956) as support for its analysis.
