AB This paper presents a simulation-based testbed forthe study of collision detection in vehicular networks. We combinethe Omnet++ discrete-event simulator with the SUMO mobilitysimulator and the SimuLTE framework, in order to study anintersection scenario where the road-side unit also integratesa collision detector. Through this set of tools, we are able tosimulate the exchange of cooperative awareness messages (CAMs)and collision alerts, and evaluate the timeliness with which thelatter are received.
