RT Conference Proceedings T1 Machine Learning Methods Applied to Biometrics A1 Noaica, Cristina Madalina A2 Carretero Pérez, Jesús A2 García Blas, Javier A2 Petcu, Dana AB Biometrics is a challenging field which uses physiological and behavioral characteristics of persons in order toestablish their identities. Biometrics research requires the fusion of several other fields, fields that are in a continuousdevelopment. Among these fields we find image processing, pattern recognition and machine learning. There aremany research oportunities in this field, some of the most recent ones being cross-sensor comparisons, livenessdetection (in iris recognition), behavioral biometrics and mobile biometrics. My PhD thesis will contribute byapplying Machine Learning methods at least for some of the enumerated research oportunities.
