RT Conference Proceedings T1 Topologies of wireless mesh networks with inband backhauling A1 Gruber, Markus A1 Klein, Siegfried A1 Uygungelen, Serkan A1 Chieng, David A1 It Ee, Lee A1 Zeller, Dietrich AB Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) with in bandbackhauling use the same antennas for the backhaul as well asfor the access. Therefore antennas of next hop neighbours need tobe directed to each other. However, such a configuration is notpossible in a three-sectorized hexagonal cell deployment. In thispaper we derive several alternative topologies that are suitablefor WMNs with in band backhauling. We show that a topologywith four directional antennas per node and backhaulconnectivity between indirect neighbours outperforms competingtopologies in terms of handover rate, optimal maximum power, and system capacity.
