T1 La representación de las islas en el cine

AB La comunicación se inserta en los trabajos que analizan la relación entre cinematografía y geografía, centrándose en el caso de las islas. Tras destacar la influencia de la literatura en la atención que el cine presta a las islas, se establecen las diferencias básicas entre los conceptos de “isla geográfica” e “isla cinematográfica” y se cuantifica el protagonismo que las islas de diferentes espacios geográficos tienen en el cine. A continuación se analizan los discursos que vinculan las islas con las producciones cinematográficas, desde la cartografía a las temáticas habituales: aislamiento, espacios idílicos, enclaves estratégicos, lugar de segundas oportunidades, de misterio, terror y peligro, o espacio de consumo turístico.
AB This paper is connected with the studies that analyze the relationship between cinema and geography, focusing on the case of the islands. After highlighting the influence of literature on these films, the paper establishes the basic differences between the concepts of "geographical island" and "cinematographic island", and quantifies the role that islands of different geographical areas have in the cinematography. Later on, discourses that link the islands with the cinematographic productions are analyzed, from the cartography to other common themes, for example: isolation, idyllic spaces, strategic locations, places of second opportunities, places of mystery, terror and danger or, finally, space of tourist consumption.
