T1 La saga Matrix como epítome de la condición digital

AB Al cumplirse casi dos décadas del estreno de Matrix, el estudio de la saga ofrece múltiples pistas para comprender de qué modo el impacto tecnológico ha representado un antes y un después en nuestra cosmovisión. En el último fin de siglo, el vertiginoso desarrollo de las telecomunicaciones generó una serie de expectativas, temores y deseos en la sociedad occidental que en buena parte se han mantenido a lo largo del siglo XXI. En este ensayo se analiza la trilogía de los hermanos Wachowski como epítome de la condición digital al plasmar la quintaesencia de la nueva era mediante la formulación de poderosas metáforas visuales y la sublimación del conectivismo y el pensamiento rizomático. El resultado final es un metatexto plagado de referencias que reavivan el interés por comprender el estatuto de lo real frente a un sugestivo horizonte virtual.
AB After nearly two decades since the premiere of Matrix, the study of this saga offers multiple hints to understand how the technological impact has represented a milestone in our cosmovision. In the last end of century, the rapid development of telecommunications raised a series of expectations, fears and desires in Western society that not few have been maintained throughout the 21st century. This essay analyzes the Wachowski’s trilogy as the epitome of digital condition as it captures the quintessence of the new era by formulating powerful visual metaphors and through the sublimation of connectivism and rhizomatic thinking. The final result is a metatext plenty of references that revives the interest in understanding the status of the real, facing a suggestive virtual horizon.
