RT Conference Proceedings T1 Testbed for a LiFi system integrated in streetlights A1 Monzón Baeza, Victor A1 Sánchez Fernández, Matilde Pilar A1 García-Armada, Ana A1 Royo, A. AB In this paper, a functional LiFi real-time testbedimplemented on FPGAs is presented. The setup evaluates theperformance of our design in a downlink scenario where thetransmitter is embedded on the streetlights and a mobile phone’scamera is used as receiver, therefore achieving the goal oflighting and communicating simultaneously. To validate thedesign, simulations of the whole system are performed. wheresimulations of the channel between streetlight and mobile deviceshow the scope of the reflection in an outdoor environment. Themeasurements are carried out to characterize the modulator, inparticular the FPGA resources and latency due to the encoderblocks. In addition the feasibility of the communication functionin presence of the ambient light is verified.
