RT Generic T1 Design and simulation of a low-cost biosensor for point-of-care diagnose devices A1 Álvarez Viar, Gonzalo AB The principal aim of the work is to help in the development of a low-costbiosensor capable of providing a reliable diagnosis to inexpert users. Ratherthan being a precise measurement instrument like mass spectrometers, thisbiosensor should be able to qualitatively detect and distinguish between themost relevant families of the bacteria causing mycobacterium tuberculosis inhuman fluids. Other approaches pursue outstanding sensitivity relying onexpensive materials and microfabrication processes. Despite other requisites,low-cost imposes certain criteria regarding materials, systems, fabricationtechniques and user interfaces to be included in the device.
