El artista y la creación de imágenes digitales
(Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Instituto de Humanidades y Comunicación "Miguel de Unamuno", 1994) Delgado Guitart, José Luis
In a analysis of the relationship between creativity and fluency of expression, the author stresses that the distance between the two is growing shorter due to the specific characteristics and the fust development of digital technologies. Delgado Guitart makes a connection between the use of this tool for expressing creativity and the archaic ones and also analyses the benefits of working in an intimate environment without interferences of any kind. In this way the image comes from the inner depths of the artist into ciberspace from where it can be manipulated or changed to other forms. The article ends with it call to artists to open to new technologies and participates in what is the beginning of a form of expression in the the 21st century.

La "máquina de trovar" de Antonio Machado o cómo la técnica sustituye al poeta
(Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Instituto de Humanidades y Comunicación "Miguel de Unamuno", 1994) Wagner, Birgit
Antonio Machado, the singer of the dry lands of Castille, discovers an unexpected side of the magic secrets of the modern tecnic in his text about; the "machine of versifying" from his "Cancionero apócrifo" (1926/28). The analysis of this text leads to the centre of an interest which is particularly modern; the worrying power of the media and the sustitution of the author/subject for a machine. This essay looks into the prehistory of the interactive media and at the same time allows a new glance at Antonio Machado's position in the "98 generation".

    Informática, Documentación, Humanidades
(Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Instituto de Humanidades y Comunicación "Miguel de Unamuno", 1994) Marcos Marín, Francisco A.
This paper proposes an innovative model of interaction among Computer Science, Documentalism and Humanities. A twofold perspective allows die reader to consider either the educational aspects of the discussion, or those related to the application of the computer to concrete points. A renovation of the syllabus is needed, from the point of view of the Humanities and also from that of the Natural and Physical Sciences. This necessity is imposed by the fact that the computer requires a technological basis, but allows a wide man-machine interaction, only possible through Natural Language interfaces. Actual possibilities are presented and explained in the text: how to build and use digital archives, with text and text and images, such as ADMYTE, the Digital Archive of Spanish Manuscripts and Texts on CD-ROM, or how to access bibliographic data bases both on CD-ROM and remotely (MLA, ERIC, RLIN).

The paper is a reflection about the future of the wrinting in the new magnetic and opthical supports and on the new screen space. After centuries writing on paper and for the space of the page there is a need to invent and essay substantially different ways to organize the text. This reflection is done from the author's experience in designing electronic books.

    Una literatura tan técnica...
(Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Instituto de Humanidades y Comunicación "Miguel de Unamuno", 1994) Balpe, Jean-Pierre
What is necessary for a text to be read as literary? Only the collusion with a reading which invents the context. The author doesn't matter. Only the text is necessary. Does it matter if the author is a machine? The informatic writing doesn't make any change in the relationship between a text and its readers. It doesn't place itself against non-informatic literature: both are identical.
