Design, implementation and deployment of a cloud infrastructure at a large organization

Abstract

Data centers, the giants who are powering the technology that drive the most signi cant businesses and research e orts, have undergone many changes throughout the past recent years. Modern widely-used tools, virtualization mechanisms, clouds, and fabric management are being implemented in order to reduce operational e ort and allow engineers to o er Infrastructure as a Service with greater facility than ever. This document reviews the current state of the art and strategies when building a cloud. In addition to that, there is a big focus on the implementation and deployment of the chosen solution. Personal contributions to the ecosystem and an explanation of how they are relevant are also reviewed. Ideas and restrictions to be thought of in the context of the European Union are included as an appendix.
