París/Carax

Abstract

Con objeto de hablar de la representación de la ciudad, París resulta un ejemplo paradigmático. No solo por la cantidad de veces que ha sido reflejada en el cine, sino por la imagen que, en el imaginario, ha trascendido de ella. Frente a la noción estilizada a la que estamos acostumbrados, encontramos en la obra de Léos Carax un París diferente, oscuro, decadente, onírico, mutante, coherente con la época actual y, en particular, con la personalidad del director.

In order to talk about the representation of the city, Paris is a paradigmatic example. Not only because of the number of times it has been reflected in the cinema, but because of the image that, in the imaginary, has transcended it. Faced with the stylized notion which we are accustomed, we find in the work of Léos Carax a different, dark, decadent, oneiric, mutant Paris, coherent with the current era and, in particular, with the personality of the director.
