dc.description.abstract This paper analyzes the achievable capacity in PF GIPOF short-range links (<200m) by combining both the Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) approach and the discrete multitone (DMT) modulation scheme operating in a single channel. The fact that the PF GIPOF may build up the base for future WDM systems is demonstrated, overcoming the power penalty in the system due to the addition of future GIPOF-based WDM devices.
