The paper reviews learningThis paper reports on metadata research and development supporting memory and reflective learning that is being conducted as part of the Memex Metadata (M2) for Student Portfolios project, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The paper reviews learning, memory, and reflective learning strategies; introduces the M2 project; presents a reflective learning scenario for a plant biology class; and reviews two metadata developments underlying the M2 project: 1) A context awareness framework (CAF), and 2) An extended metadata framework. The paper concludes with a brief discussion of future research activities.[+][-]
