La forma del libro condiciona el acceso al texto por el lector Por eso, el papel jugado por la puesta en libro es determinante para su recepción. A partir de las sucesivas ediciones de «Humo, dolor, placer» de Alberto Insúa el presente trabajo analiza las elecciones editoriales y las expectativas creadas en el lector.

The form of a book conditions the reader's access to a text. Publication therefore becomes a crucial factor in the reception of a text. Based on the successive editions of «Humo, dolor, placer» («Smoke, Pain, Pleasure») by Alberto Insúa, the present study analyzes the publishers' choices together with the expectations awakened in the reader.
