dc.description.abstract The goal of the pre-processing stage is to detect and locate the position of the faces that appear in an image regardless of their pose, orientation or lighting conditions. To solve the problem of locating the faces, is to use the information of the three colours in the RGB representation format is delivered by many of the cameras on the market. This paper presents a solution to part of the problem of locating faces in images that our human vision system together with our brain, resolved in a seemingly simple. Facial ellipse is located, through a set of points that define the polygon within which is expensive and also the possible rectangle which is inscribed the abovementioned ellipse or polygon. Chapter 1 “Introduction” presents the objective, description of solution and organization of project. Chapter 2 "A historical tour" means a journey from the beginnings of the need to locate people and the different methods developed. Chapter 3 "Project Objectives" talks about what you want to achieve. Chapter 4 "Specifications and Design" presents the work giving the specifications, requirements and architecture meet. Chapter 5 "Analysis of the solution" makes a brief introduction to the tools, functions, modules, and a description of the main parts used in development.
