Determinación de la conductividad térmica en nanohilos mediante efecto fotoacústico

Abstract

El presente proyecto, tiene como objetivo el diseño e implementación de un sistema de instrumentación electrónico, capaz de determinar la conductividad térmica de nuevos materiales, mediante el efecto fotoacústico. La medición fotoacústica se enmarca dentro de los análisis no destructivos y presenta una clara ventaja en la medición de matrices nanoestructuradas dado que no precisa de contacto mecánico con la muestra. La celda fotoacústica desarrollada se ha optimizado acorde al objetivo de hacer mediciones tanto en matrices de nanohilos como para láminas delgadas crecidas en multicapas. El sistema de instrumentación es capaz tanto de regular la exposición lumínica de la muestra, como de recoger las señales acústicas del sistema. Todo el dispositivo está conectado a un ordenador de control desde donde se gobiernan y monitorizan los diferentes instrumentos mediante el entorno gráfico LabView. Finalmente, y con el objetivo de procesar los datos se utiliza el entorno matemático Mathematica. El proyecto se enmarca dentro de la línea de investigación, Nanoengineered high performace Thermoelecric Energy devices, desarrollada en el Instituto Madrileño de Microelectrónica (IMM), perteneciente al CSIC, y que tiene como principal objetivo el desarrollo de dispositivos termoeléctricos de alto rendimiento. ___________________________________________________________________________________

The aim of this project is to design and to implement an electronic instrumentation system capable of determining the thermal conductivity of new materials, by means of the photoacoustic effect. The photoacoustic method provides a non-destructive analysis of these materials, having a clear advantage in the measurement of nanostructured arrays because it does not require mechanical contact with the samples. In the framework of this project, a photoacoustic cell has been designed and optimized, according to a clear objective: being able to make measurements on nanowire arrays, multilayers and thin films grown in those multilayers. The instrumentation system is capable of regulating both the light exposure of the sample, and to collect the acoustic signals that are produced in the sample as a consecuence of the heating provided by the light. The entire device is connected to a control computer, from which one can govern and monitor the various instruments through a LabView graphical environment. Finally, in order to manipulate the physical equations and process the data, the mathematical environment Mathematica has been used. This project is part of a more ambitious research, focused on the developement of nano-engineered high performace Thermoelecric Energy devices, which is being carried out at the Madrid Institute of Microelectronics (IMM - CSIC).
