Abstract
Service providers will highly rely on network softwarization operational trends for addressing 5G verticals’ market, leveraging on multi-domain cloud computing capabilities offered by different stakeholders. Consequently, multi-domain scenarios in which diverse providers form a federation will become more relevant for 5G and beyond. Due to the intrinsic limited footprint and infrastructure capacity offered by just a single provider, the progression towards these scenarios will require mechanisms to support an efficient orchestration of network slices over multi-provider assets. In this paper, we analyse the convenience of enabling timely exchange of information in terms of guaranteed latency and resource availability among various telecommunication providers participating in a federation to effectively ensure the deployment of 5G vertical services and reduce the service provision blocking probability.
