Abstract: Despite Jesus Guridi's liturgical music belonging to the period marked by the precepts of Pope Pius X's Motu Proprio, a large part of his works goes beyond a simple assumption of those precepts and displays original solutions to the problems originated by the guidelines of ecclesiastics regulations. This text explores the main characteristics of the compositional language of Gurid's liturgical music.
