La determinación temporal del enunciado (VI): El subsistema 4

Abstract

El subsistema 4 corresponde a los determinadores que poseen las marcas generales: temporal (en sentido estricto), no comparativo, no modal, no durativo, sin determinación de repetición e implica frecuencia de los eventos. Y también unas marcas específicas que dan lugar al siguiente conjunto de oposiciones: ± evento determinador de la estructura performativa, ± necesariamente periódico, ± cuantificado, escala negativa / positiva de repeticiones, ± enfático, ± intensificado, ± necesariamente dentro de un espacio temporal, analítico / sintético, simple / complejo, ± definido y ± negativo. De la unión de estas oposiciones específicas y las marcas generales surge un subsistema de veinticuatro tipos diferentes de determinadores. Pero el sentido total del subsistema 4 está determinado por su oposición, como un todo, al subsistema 3 –fundada sobre la marca no implica la frecuencia de los eventos (subsistema 3) / implica la frecuencia de los eventos (subsistema 4)– y por su oposición al subsistema 5, pues este tiene la marca con determinación de repetición, ausente del subsistema 4.

Subsystem 4 deals with the determiners which gather the next general features: (strictly) temporal, non-comparative, non-modal, non-durative, without determining repetition, implying the frequency of the events. As far as their specific marks are concerned, these determiners can be described via the following oppositions: ± event determining the performative structure, ± necessarily periodic, ± quantified, negative/positive repetition scale, ± emphatic, ± intensified, ± necessarily within a temporal space, analytic/synthetic, simple/complex, ± definite, ± negative. If we link these specific oppositions with the aforementioned general features, we can set out a subsystem of twenty-four different types of temporal determiners. Nevertheless, the interpretation of subsystem 4 is determined by its opposition as a whole to subsystem 3 –based on the feature not implying the frequency of the events (subsystem 3) / implying the frequency of the events (subsystem 4) – and also by its opposition to subsystem 5, since this one contains the feature determining repetition, which is absent from subsystem 4.
