Abstract
Esta evaluación de usabilidad de reconocimiento de firma manuscrita se ha llevado a cabo por la necesidad de resolver los problemas debidos al uso erróneo de sistemas biométricos junto con el incremento en las tasas de error en los productos finales. Además, de acuerdo con la popularidad de los dispositivos móviles y la tendencia del mercado, la evaluación se ha realizado firmando en escenarios móviles con smart phones, tablets y algunos otros dispositivos móviles comunes. Este estudio revela interesantes resultados relacionando preferencias del usuario con los resultados objetivos y muestra la necesidad de involucrar más al usuario en el desarrollo de soluciones biométricas, no sólo por la comodidad, sino también por un mejor rendimiento en los sistemas.
Along with the necessity to solve the problems due to the misuse of biometric systems and the consistent increase in the final products error rates, a usability evaluation on handwritten signature recognition was carried out. Furthermore, according to the popularity of mobile devices and the market trends, the evaluation was performed signing in mobile scenarios with smart phones, tablets and some other common mobile devices. This study reveals interesting results correlating habituation and preferences with better or worst results and it shows the need of involve the user more incisively in the development of biometric solutions, not only for comfort issues but for better systems throughput.
