Haciendas forales y reformas borbónicas. Navarra, 1700-1808

Abstract

Durante los siglos XVI y XVII el sistema fiscal de la Monarquía hispana se había sustentado en los recursos que proporcionaba la corona de Castilla. En el XVI los Borbones emprendieron una serie de reformas para integrar en este sistema a aquellos territorios que no contribuían. La mayor parte de los estudios se han centrado en los nuevos regímenes fiscales que se establecen en la corona de Aragón. Mucho menos conocido es su impacto en Vascongadas y Navarra, cuyas haciendas Corales también se vieron modificadas, aunque siguieran disfrutando de una amplia exoneración tributaria. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar cómo se materializaron estos cambios en el reino de Navarra.

In the 16th and 17th centuries the fiscal system of the Spanish monarchy had been sustained by the tesources piovided by Castile. In the 18th centuty the Bourbons undertook a series of referms to intégrate these territories which did not contribute. So far much research has been done on the new fiscal systems established in the reahns of the crown of Aragón, but the impact on the Basque Country and Navarre is less known. The statutory finances of these territories were modified, although they continued to enjoy tax exemption. This paper aims at analysing how such changes materialized in the Kingdom of Navarre.
