Abstract
En la búsqueda de los valores que nos llevan a querer seguir evolucionando hacia una integración tecnohumana de lo moderno y lo clásico, la historia del progreso educativo universitario en nuestro país nos muestra, junto a otros indicadores que justifican la utilidad de las Humanidades en un ámbito actual empresarial, que en España se ha otorgado hasta el momento importancia –con mayor o menor rigor y acierto– tanto a la rentabilidad profesional como a la formativa. Las ciencias humanas y las ciencias técnicas, abocadas a convivir en un mundo pragmático y necesario en medio de una existente contradicción académica y humana, que opone una visión economicista centrada en la educación como crecimiento económico versus un enfoque humanista de la Universidad como artífice de un crecimiento para el desarrollo humano, enfrentando así rentabilidad económica y rentabilidad social; necesitan ver superada esta realidad poliédrica, atendiendo a la demanda actualizada de una sociedad moderna.
On the search of the values that lead us to develop a technohuman integration of the Modern and the Classical, the history of the progress of University in our country shows us –among other indicators that can justify the utility of Humanities in the frame of today’s business world, to which a huge importance is granted nowadays in Spain– both the professional and the educational profitability. Human and technicalsciences are condemned to cohabit in a pragmatic world, just in the middle of an academic and human contradiction, which confronts an economical vision of education as economic growth vs. a humanistic vision of University as engine of the growth for human development, thus opposing economic and social profitability. These two sciences hence need to overwhelm this polyhedral reality, taking into account the nowadays demand of a modern society.
