Pensar la política. Sobre el legado de Hannah Arendt

Abstract

El proyecto filosófico de Hannah Arendt está inextricablemente unido a la posibilidad de pensar la política en el mundo moderno. Su propósito de escribir una “introducción a la política” es discutido en el contexto de sus cuadernos de notas y sus obras más conocidas. La evolución de su pensamiento la llevó a negar la posibilidad de pensar la política desde la filosofía, tras los horrores de los campos de exterminio y el surgimiento de regímenes totalitarios. Sin embargo, sus reflexiones en torno al juicio de Eichmann le permitieron matizar su posición y redescubrir la importancia de la capacidad de juzgar para pensar la política, así como la intervención decisiva de la filosofía en la formación de dicha capacidad.

Hannah Arendt´s philosophical project is inextricably linked to the possibility of thinking politics in the modern world. Her attempt at writing “an introduction to politics” is discussed in the context of her philosophical notebooks and her most known works. The evolution of her thinking took her to reject the possibility of thinking politics from philosophy, after the horrors of the extermination camps and the rise of totalitarian regimes. Nevertheless, her reflections on Eichmann´s trial prompted her some nuances in her position that would finally allow her to rediscover the importance of the capacity to judge for thinking politics as well as the decisive intervention of philosophy in building that capacity.
