La cartografía en el cine: mapas y planos en las producciones cinematográficas occidentales

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene por objeto el estudio de la relación entre cartografía y cinematografía, analizando la presencia de los mapas y planos en las producciones cinematográficas occidentales. Para ello se ha creído conveniente mostrar, en primer lugar, las vinculaciones de la cartografía con otras artes como la pintura y la literatura que pueden considerarse como antecedentes de esa relación. Tras analizar las limitadas aportaciones científicas sobre este tema, realizadas desde distintas disciplinas, se aborda el análisis de los mapas que se exhiben en las películas producidas en Europa y Norteamérica. En atención a una presentación ordenada de los resultados se han considerando los distintos objetivos que se evidencia en esta relación, incluyendo no sólo aquellos de tipo descriptivo sino otros adicionales de carácter subyacente.

The present work aims at studying the relationship between cartography and film, analyzing the presence of maps and city plans in western film productions. This has seen fit to show, first, the mapping connections with other arts such as painting and literature that can be considered as a background of that relationship. After, considering the scientific contributions made on this issue from different disciplines, focuses on the analysis of maps that are exhibited in the films produced in Europe and North America. In response to an orderly presentation of the results have been considering the various objectives in this relationship, including not only those descriptive but other underlying type.
