El despliegue de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona entre 1968 y 1973: de fundación franquista a motor del cambio democrático en Cataluña

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza los años fundacionales de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona desde diferentes perspectivas. En primer lugar, a partir de su relación con la Ley General de Educación de 1970 y los motivos que impulsaron su creación. En segundo lugar, desde una perspectiva interna describiendo su despliegue institucional y la creación de las primeras Facultades, la polémica construcción del Campus de Bellaterra y su expansión por Catalunya y las Islas Baleares. Y finalmente, narrando la formación del movimiento estudiantil y de profesores no numerarios de Bellaterra y la relación de ambos con los movimientos antifranquistas en defensa de la democratización de la educación.

The Deployment of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona from 1968 to 1973. From its Origins within the Francos Regime to a source of the democratic change in Catalonia This work analyzes the first years of the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona (UAB) from different points of view. First, it studies the connection between the University and the General Law of Education of 1970 and evaluates the reasons that drove its foundation. Second, and from an internal perspective, it describes its institutional development and the creation of the first Faculties and Schools, the controversial construction of the Campus at Bellaterra, and the UAB expansion across Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. Finally, it recounts how political groups of students and assistant professors where started at the Campus of Bellaterra, and the relation of those with other movements against the Francos regime and in defense of the democratization of the educational system.
