Funciones de los observatorios de medios en Latinoamérica

Abstract

Surgidos en fechas recientes, los observatorios son supervisores que monitorean y controlan la actividad de los medios masivos. Si bien ésta es su principal función, el tiempo y la versatilidad que ellos admiten, ha extendido sus funciones hasta incluir la propia asignación de otros mecanismos. El objetivo del presente texto es describir las funciones más habituales de los observatorios latinoamericanos. Para esto se ha desglosado una exhaustiva revisión teórica y se han incluido los testimonios de los editores de nueve observatorios lanitoamericanos.

Arisen in recent dates, the observatories are supervisors that monitor and control the activity of the media. Though this one is their first function, time and the versatility that they admit have extended their functions up to including proper assignments of other mechanisms. The aim of the present text is to describe the most habitual functions of the Latin American observatories. For it, theoretical exhaustive review has been split and the testimonies of the editors of nine Latin American observatories have been added.
