España en perspectiva internacional: Fuerzas Armadas en misiones internacionales [bookreview]

Title: España en perspectiva internacional: Fuerzas Armadas en misiones internacionales [bookreview]
Author(s): Huguet, Montserrat
Abstract: Into the contemporary world the armed forces have turned - almost always to the thread of the wars - into agents of undoubted technological modernization. In 1989 it would begin a process of Spanish collaboration in missions of the UNO with human and technical resources. The great exigency of other European foreign missions would be used not only to the professionalization of the Spanish democratic army but also to the design of policies (aims and lines of action) in the matter of national foreign missions. This book tells about the participation of the Spanish Armed Forces in missions of peace in last decades. The reading of these pages allows us to see how the exterior action of Spain was not yet completed in central decades of the 20th century because of the absence of the armed forces in the international missions.
